Found a free use cityscape image and colored it with Silhouette in two color ways, one yellow and the other a turquoise. Played with the yellow and some mixed media till I thought I it was ok. Mounted on black layer and white cs base. Then began playing with the turquoise color. Stamped sentiment in black then dry brushed whole copy paper sheet with clear gesso. Once dry, stamped on tree & pine bough in a medium turquoise and sponged on dark turquoise around edge. Then splatter white acrylic paint and added black gel pen lines in windows. Stamped edges with versa mark and added Stampendous Aged Black Embossing Enamel (my new favorite find-shiny black with both silver and gold). Dusted off some of the enamel then heat set from the back. While I was lining it up on the first card to estimate size, I decided I quite liked the yellow as a layer. I proceeded to glue down the turquoise piece right on top of the yellow card.

Tip: I was starting to think I did not like the Pixie Spray so much because it came off every time I washed my stencil, requiring re-application. While I was playing with the yellow color way, I had used a stencil with sponging and it needed cleaning. Too lazy to get up and go to the sink for a proper wash I wanted to spray it with my alcohol and wipe it clean. The stencil was laying on a glossy covered magazine, that I was done reading but not thrown away yet, so I sprayed alcohol right there where everything was. Wiped up the ink and left the sticky backing spray intact plus this left the magazine like it had not been abused. YEA!

  1. What brand is the embossing powder enamel you are using? I really like the way it comes out and how it looks on this card. Very nice, and the whole card is great. Colour choices work beautifully and your design is excellent.
