Stencil w/Watercolor Pencils

Got this set of layered stencils with the matching stamp set on the super sales during the Holidays. First I stamped the outlined portion in black ink on white text vellum paper then heat set glossy clear powder. After watching this video I decided to give this technique a whirl with the stencils and my set of Derwent Inktense Ink Pencils. After getting brush wet I swiped across the color of the yellow pencil then brushed across the placed stencil. Because it was for a water color look I was not too worried if the brush got under the stencil, plus the black embossing created a kind of like dam for most of the coloring. Following the set of 5 stencils with shades of yellow and gray I got this. Very easy to create colors on glass mat. After it was dry it was a little wonky so I dry embossed with a leaf folder then using my french curve I drew and cut across the piece. Attached to white copy paper that is on white copy paper with yellow marker along the edges. All is mounted on white cs base. Sentiment was cut on the Silhouette in white cs that I colored with yellow marker that matches the mat layer. Stamped rest of sentiment in black ink. Because my set of pencils are actually ink based, when dry I could use a brush and white bleed proof ink to clean up the really messy spots. The other genius of this technique is the ability to splatter with the matching colors which I did do after coloring with the stencils.

Thanks for sharing your time with me, now I am sharing this with:
