I am not good at CAS but I really suck at shabby chic. The greenery piece was stamped using turnabout gig with several stamps in several colors. It was then smooched in watered down brown ink. I distressed the edges then rubbed the brown ink pad over them as well as on the lace all in an effort to make them look aged. Mounted the distressed blue check pp then the focal image piece then the lace all on white cs base. Added corner piece that was cut on the Silhouette as was the banner that has brown stamped sentiment. Please share with me what I am not getting right to get the look I was hoping for because to me it looks way to contrived.
Thanks for sharing you time with me, now I am sharing this with:
I can’t help you with the Shabby Chic look, as I just don’t get it. To me it’s just pretty but distressed. I like the colors you used and the way you did the lace. Maybe just a little less?

LOL, Bonnie I had to chuckle at your opening sentence. I think your card is definitely shabby chic from the lace to the distressed edges and the aged look with the brown ink.

I think you are heading in the right direction for shabby chic. The lace, gingham, flowers, flourish are all spot on. I would cut back a little on the brown ink. Do you own Sepia colored ink? That color helps the shabby aged look. I think it is a beautiful card!

Sorry, o help from me! When I try, just looks like a mess! Agree with Lisa K, maybe just a little less and lighter colors.

I have no idea what shabby chic is supposed to be, but I think your card looks great. Love the soft tones and all that texture.
