Teal & Cranberry

What could be more festive than teal and cranberry? They scream Thanksgiving to me, so I wanted to create that kind of card. I had promised a stamp buddy that I would try a color challenge by focusing on the neutrals and layer on the colors from there. So I assembled white Text Vellum, corn sheaves printed in b&w on tissue paper and large two layer sentiment Silhouette cut in white layering weight cs. I took the Text vellum and added water color in the basic colors through a wonky square stencil. The corn sheaves were then attached with white glue. The leaves are water colored with gold then some gold glitter attached with white glue. Pumpkins are the same teal water color as the bg as are the leaves on the ground in the cranberry color. Rubbed the edge of focal tag with cranberry ink pad. Mat layer is teal cs dry embossed then shimmer spray of perfect pearls. Mat layer of sentiment was colored with water color then top attached and both layered on card. All was mounted on white cs base.

I do have to say the colors still feel somewhat forced but the process was slightly easier than sitting at my blank craft space with colors in my head.

  1. Lovely color combination. The corn stalk and pumpkins is a really cool image that just screams fall. Love the sentiment and the embossed background.
