Stencil with depth

Used homemade stencil and deco foil transfer gel on white cs then while medium was wet sprinkled on Copper embossing powder and heat set. So fun to watch the medium bubble while the powder liquefies. Sponged edges in Chocolate Brown ink then cut corners, added vellum strip (scored at edge, folded over and attached in the back) and sentiment cut twice with Silhouette in two widths. The top layer was drug through Versa Mark and Copper embossing powder heat set twice. Layered this top on Chocolate Brown cs on a white cs base.

This is entered in the “As You Like It Challenge”. They want me to pick my favorite stencil or die and state why. I use stencils more than dies because I committed financially to a Silhouette years ago and cut most layers on that, along with custom stencils. Not sure most would call those cutouts actual “die cuts”. Now I rarely purchase dies. To say I have a favorite stencil is impossible, like stating your favorite child so I am going to call my Silhouette my favorite.

  2. This is a great card that it sounds like you had lots of fun making. I love that you love your Silhouette and use it so much! What do you cut your stencils out of? What blade/settings do you use?

    1. I use Grayfix 9×12 .005 plastic film from Amazon. The speed is 3 cutting depth 30 with blade set at 10 and cut twice. I can get two 6×6 out of a sheet. The material is firm but flexible and cuts clean. Oh and does not seem to dull the blade like some other materials I have used. Let me know if you try it and what you think?
