New Stencil Brush

Just learned not all stencil brushes are created equal. After stamping the flower spray in black ink and water coloring I wanted to add this bg stencil at the end. Very scary because too many ways to go wrong. I had just received my Lavinia Stamps stencil brushes and gave one a go with Oxide Spray in blue on mat sprayed with water. Dipped the brush in liquid and swirled the color through warped squares stencil around flowers. Removed stencil then went straight brush with color to edges. Mounted this on Folded frame base with heat set sentiment on vellum strip. Added twine tied into a bow to complete. The frame does stand on it own but I did add a easel so it won’t fall over quite so easily.

The results with this brush and liquid is amazing. I did purchase three of these same stencils brushes, one for each primary color. Can not wait to use them with ink pads, or shimmer sprays and maybe even stencil butters.

Thanks for sharing your time with me, now I am sharing this with:

  1. Beautiful framed image! Glad you found brushes that work well for you. That brush reminds me of a stipple brush, but the reviewer says they have soft bristles. Sound like a nice brush.

  3. It’s wonderful that your new brush worked out so well, it could be risky (at least in my hands lol!) with a wet medium versus ink blending. Love how the stenciling turned out and the flowers that are so bright and cheerful! Thanks for sharing with us at the Tic Tac Toe Challenge this week!
