Color Burst with a Twist

Challenges I am entering
Double D: Pearls,Gems, Rhinestones
Global Design: Case the Designer
Make My Monday: Dance

I started with a white piece of layering weight cs and laid that on an embossing folder that I had sprinkled three colors of Color Burst, but the twist is that the spray I used to activate the burst was shimmer spray. WOW! I let the paper dry and cleaned the folder then realigned the piece to the folder and dry embossed it. The focal center is gray cs stamped in black with pumpkin and sentiment. Colored the pumpkin with the orange color burst /shimmer spray with a water brush. The edges got ruffed up and painted with gold acrylic then mounted on white cs. All layers were placed on gray cs on a white cs base. The shimmer gems were a last minute thought. One of the challenges I am entering is asking for “Dance”. I know there is not a dancer in sight here, but you should have seen my happy dance when the shimmer worked.

Tip: This one is from Jennifer McGuire. I don’t always get to watch her videos but recently she worked on a project that got a little warped. She ran it through her laminator with heat. That is such a great idea. I used it on both the dry embossed layer and the pumpkin focal. Now I don’t regret not using the laminator for foiling (just not my thing).
