Using What is Left

Like so many times before, I was faced with file it-pitch it-or use it on a new project. The torn edge circles on the left are the stamping off of the stencil with the glittery dark gray stencil butter in an effort to start the cleaning process such that the piece here became leftovers. Same with the green pattern on the right, the stencil needed cleaned after using lime green stencil butter on another project. Focal tulip is a gray tone print of a digi I printed several times to cut out each petal and leaf so I could make a die cut pattern on the Silhouette. But instead of pitching the extra print, I used a stencil brush and ink pad to add color then mat framed with gray cs. Lower stripe strip is printed on white waterproof stencil paper that was left after trimming the sheet to fit in an envelope to send as a gift to a fellow crafter. Used circle punch to cut some of the green color from scrapes and after attaching I added glossy accents to the three dots. After it was all but complete, I added white and black gel pen to tulips for more depth. No sentiment, but could be a last minute Easter or get well.

Thanks for sharing your time with me, now I am sharing this with:

  1. You made a superb card with your ‘leftovers’- the backgrounds are perfect with the tulips- love the colours you’ve used. Thanks for joining in at Crafty Catz this week.

  2. You are so good at making interesting backgrounds and for seeing the value in a piece of scrap/trash. The white and black details you added to the tulips really do add depth to the image. This is so pretty!
