A Few Things to Share

I found this VIDEO on making a gate fold with a twist. I really love the thirds in the front folds and the repeat of the pattern. My card is 5×4.25 and used a couple of stamps with ink then water color for detail and Stickles for bling. The bulk of these images is a single stamp and followed the video suggestions on stamping. I did use my stencil brush for the sky and edges.

For my card I made a bookmark from this Video Tutorial on hidden paperclips instead of a belly band. Plus it makes a fun gift sent with the card.

If you make your own envelopes and struggle with how to close them, I have finally found a homemade lick-able gum paste that works. HERE is the full tutorial but below is my jar with the recipe on it. I used cider vinegar and maple sugar.

This does turn back to a liquid once re-heated and smooths on easily, dries quickly and even lays very flat after licking and closing envelope. YEA!

  1. Your card is beautiful and I love how you’ve closed it with the hidden paperclip. The hidden paperclip looks like a fun project and a great way to use up scraps. Love the idea of being able to make glue for handmade envelopes. Thanks for sharing the video links.

    1. Thanks Judy, I have tried several recipes for lick glue and they were not good. Mostly because they just did not work at holding the flap closed. This works.

  2. Your watercolored stamped image is absoutely gorgeous! I thought you used patterned paper. The variation on the gatefold is very nice, and your book mark is an added bonus for the recipient! Thanks for all the links and tips!
