I love playing around with ideas that are mulling in my head. They are usually inspired by others but I am always piggybacking with another dimension. This center image is such a concept. Watched video where designer embossed black cs. I wanted to try using homemade cs. I ran white layering weight cs through dry embossing folder then painted black gesso over entire piece. Ran that through again to remove brush marks and intensive embossing. Next, I added Platinum Modeling Paste with sponge then placed behind red frame on white cs base. For the embossed images on the frame, I dry embossed white copy paper then outlined and colored black from the de-boss side the images I wanted to cut out. After scanning these images I uploaded as jpeg’s to Silhouette and after using trace option I could then die cut them. It was very fun and rewarding to have them fit perfectly back into the embossing folder to be dry embossed. They are so small that the embossed side and the de-boss sides are not that noticeable so I can use mirror images and still have the effect of similar images to scale with embossing. Sentiment was a Black Friday find of script stamped sentiments. I scanned the image sheet that came with the stamps and used the Silhouette software to first trace then outline so I could cut mat layers for all the sentiments. After cutting out in white cs, I stamped the words in black ink then mounted the piece just on frame decorative images so it kind of floats.
Thanks for sharing your time with me, now I am sharing this with:

So much cool stuff here! Making your own black card stock, all the layers of color and texture on a piece of plain card stock, perfect cutouts of the embossed flowers and swirls to add as accents… And it all adds up to a beautiful creation!
