Shimmer of Snow

We have 3″ of fresh snow and I wanted to create something that has that shimmer. I dry embossed this design with copy paper then highlighted the embossed side with silver acrylic paint on a make up sponge. Once dry it got trimmed to size then smeared with clear gesso. It gave it the perfect shimmer and heft to the copy paper. PP strip is left over from the previous post and sentiment was cut on the Silhouette. I am loving using my Xyron machine to add adhesive to the fine die cut and running it through the embossing machine with the rubber mat and lightest of pressure Sure insures that there is only adhesive on the back of the words and NO spider webbing. Plus the backing peels easier. I find if I peel the backing half way lengthwise then press back down then do that again on the other direction but leave half of the sticky word revealed it is easy to place straight and then remove the rest of the backing. It is an old trick from learning how to hang wall paper.

Thanks for sharing your time with me, now I am sharing this with:

  1. Beautiful card. I would never have thought to use copy paper, I always thought it was too thin. It’s gorgeous this way. And thanks for the tip on the Xyron Machine and using the rubber mat. I’ll try that. Lots of wonderful work here, and great take on the challenge. Thanks so much for playing along with us over at Can You Handle the Pressure, I hope we see you back again soon!
