Funny thing happened on the way to making this shimmer and shine, which is the theme for the challenge over at Try It On Tuesday, where I was invited to be their guest designer. After smooching the bg with purple, orange and yellow ink on my glass mat. I added the stamped image of a leaf in black ink. Added water colors and Posco pen dots in the color scheme to make the leaf pop. The paper was kind of wonky so was going to add adhesive with sticker maker but put the right side down and that is where the adhesive gets attached. Now what? For some reason the adhesive was splotchy on the bg and did not stick to the leaf image so I coated the whole thing with gold glitter. To add shine to the leaf I dotted it with glue and added versa mark along the edges of the piece and heat set gold embossing powder. Added strip of a sentiment then mounted on distressed orange cs mat layer that is on a white cs base. That I was going to add Glossy Accents to just the leaf for my shine this actually turned out much better in that department. Their challenges are thought provoking and encouraging in what ever medium or format you like to create in. YEA a challenge that encourages use of digi’s, but you can stamp away if that is your thing.
