After making myself a circle die I wanted to give it a test drive. Pulled a previously made bg from my stack and added varying sixes of circle with varying media for the Bokeh effect. Some are sponged from an ink pad while others are brushed on with white acrylic paint. Used a pencil to define horizon then colored snow covered landscape with white acrylic. Stamped the doe in black and the trees with embossing pad then heat set tinsel. Went back in and stamped front tree in black over the top of the silver one. Added foreground shrubs with two different stamps in light gray and off stamping. Used color pencils with water brush to highlight horizon and shadow around deer. Added white splatter then trimmed piece, rubbed edges with black ink then mounted on white cs base. Added Silhouette cut sentiment.
Thanks for sharing your time with me, now I am sharing this with:
Alphabet Challenge: S is for Silver
Something new for me: I had run out of sleeves for my laminator so when I ordered new I got some 3 mil with my tried and true 5 mil. After running a 3 mil through the heat process, with nothing inside it, I then used that sheet to cut my circle stencil. My Silhouette seemed to cut very well (blade depth – 9, force – 33, speed – 4 and cut twice), the stencil worked great and cleaned up wonderfully. I had used the 5 mil in the same fashion and I did like the sturdiness of the stencil but my machine struggled to make fine cuts. This thickness seems flimsy but really did a great job for both sponging embossing pad through and using paint brush. Final test will be making a stencil with fine details then using stencil butters! Stay tuned.
Beautiful! I love the deer and the tree. Looks like a photo.
