Red Poinsettia

I wanted to play along with the Cupcake Inspired Challenge and they were asking for Red+White+Cream. I did not have enough red pp to cut my single stamp of this poinsettia into four layers, so I made my own by using red water color on misc. pp. After I stamped the image on each page I fussy cut, then stacked each color. Adding perfect pearls shimmer spray and white splatter tied them back together. Adding shadow in black color pencil with water brush to fade was fun. Sentiment was created on Silhouette and cut. BG cream was dry embossed and then added Silhouette cut frame then image then sentiment. All is mounted on white cs base.

Image of the stamp used with the pp. The bottom three are leftovers and the top scrap piece shows the cream and peach color that was changed with red water color.

The idea of combing hugs and hello was a way to send a note to friends without being too holiday specific. Email me if you want the svg of this sentiment. Or use this jpg if you want.

  1. Creative and gorgeous. All of the layers of your poinsettia fussy cut with your red water colored paper is stunning. The sentiment with the shadow is the finishing touch.

    1. My bad, I thought the challenge photo was only a suggestion not a requirement. Your Challenge rules page states “We would also love if you would post the Cupcake Inspirations challenge photo. (Instagram posters may tag us @cupcake.inspirations as an alternative to including the graphic.)”

      1. You are right, it does say that, so I must have read or understood it incorrectly myself. Nice I will let the owners know of this. Have a great day and your card is again very beautiful.
