Kid in all of us

The good gal at Kit & Clowder is offering an Advent Calendar of Giveaways. This precious little girl is the first giveaway from All Dressed Up (new digi company to me). I printed her on white text vellum then colored with water colors and water color pencils. BG is white text vellum rubbed with red and green chalk, then embossing pad dabbed through snowflake stencil with the red chalk rubbed on wet clear ink once stencil was removed. Placed the stencil back down but slightly offset and sprayed gold shimmer spray. Tag was Silhouette cut on white cs then stamped in black for sentiment. Sponged edges with green ink then mounted. Mounted all on white cs base.

Tip: With all the holiday sales and special offers, try to resist the temptation to click the buy button. Think of what you already have and get creative. In this project I used my perfect pearls and colorburst in a water color tray to create the shimmer paints used in her hair, the star and her dress. Do use the opportunity to save if there are basics or tools that are needed. Great time to stock up on glue, tape, paper or glass mat.

Thanks for spending your time with me, now I am sharing this with:

  1. What a pretty take on our colors – love that background! The embossing looks gorgeous over your color washes! Thanks so much for playing at HSS!

  2. Your background is lovely and that little girl is just precious. Thanks for the reminder that we don’t need to buy something just because it’s on a holiday sale. I did succumb to one Black Friday sale (and then I ordered one duplicate).

  3. Such a cute card and I also really like the background which is so soft looking and perfect for the cute image.
Thank you for joining us at the All Dressed Up Challenge blog, good luck in the draw and I hope you’ll be back again soon.
