I know I will be needing holiday thank you cards so I got started with this one. The bg is white text vellum with a circular piece of clear plastic for a focal mask, just placed in the center. I then sprayed the paper with water to wet then dabs of water color added in buckskin, green and blue allowing the colors to run into each other and slightly under plastic mask. Once dry I heat embossed in gold the focal ornament stamp. Using my colored pencils and water brush I colored it up adding shimmer paint in matching colors. Once dry I masked it off and stamped the evergreen boughs and splatter. Sentiment thanks was cut on the Silhouette in white cs then heat set twice in gold. Trimmed to 4×5 3/4 and run a sharpie along the edges. Mounted on white cs base.
I am loving the ethereal effect of the water color bg. I will be using this technique again with different mediums. It is so cool how the plastic only buffers the colors allowing some to ooze under preventing a sharp edge. Plus it is a great way to re-cycle some of the thin plastic wrap almost everything is packaged in right now. Can not wait to see what color burst does?
Thanks for spending your time with me, now I am sharing this with:
Inspired By: Color Challenge I was really drawn to the buckskin, blues and green in the photo
TTTC: Gingerbread+Holiday+Sparkle My gingerbread is in the color of the cookies used in the bg and this is tons of sparkle because the image and sentiment are gold plus the splatter is gold. I even top coated the image with matching shimmer paint.
And here you have another amazing creation. Very pretty.
