Hello! Today I am sharing a card that I created as a guest designer for the challenge at Try it on Tuesday. The theme is “use book pages.” This is a fun challenge because all you have to do is use book pages as part of your design, this could be from any book e.g. atlas, dictionary, novel, music score, poetry, recipe etc. Please consider following this challenge because they always give such great inspiration with so many unique ideas, different techniques, and various mediums.

To make this I die cut several flowers from a paperback book page that I had brushed with white gesso lightly. The orange portions are cs that was die cut. Originally I was only trying to conserve cs by placing my combo die close but not overlapping but then it looked so cool I used it as a layer. It was placed on photo copy paper of b&w stripe. I then layered two of the flowers and added orange stamen. Extra stamen were place for bg. Used white gel pen to add seed dots. The sentiment strip is popped up with foam tape. All is mounted on white cs base.
I really like the fall feel this has. It was inspired by fall mums that are beginning to show their colors around here. My thoughts were to have many flowers but when I decided to incorporate the die cut waste as bg that flew out the window. Thanks to Jo for inviting me as guest designer and for all the inspiration she has given me. If you are playing with mixed media, her blog is a must follow.
Very pretty fall card. I like how you used the positive and negative of the cs. Congrats on the guest designer spot.

Congratulations on being named guest designer on the Try It on Tuesday blog group. Your card looks lovely and creative. The fall page flowers are very cool and love the negative space. I can see this been really great in reds for winter and snowflake design.
