The Periwinkle is blooming and I wanted to use my microwave flower press. I also pressed the flowering pear blooms’ and leaves. I created the bg with water colors mixed on glass mat then smooched on to white cs. Once dry, I dry embossed with geometric stencil. The flowers became very single colored so I spritzed them with gold shimmer spray. With the over spray of gold on the glass mat, I smooched the cs piece. Attached the leaves and flowers with white glue, added white enamel dots for flower stamen and mounted sentiment strip. Rubbed the edges of focal piece and dot pp with black ink pad. Mounted these on white cs base.
I have not used this flower press much but this was a fun project and I am happy with the monochromatic look of the finished piece, even though it has touches of gold and green foliage. It was a little surprising that the petals stayed so intense in color.
