When I was working on the previous project the butterfly stencil with Mod Podge on it had this left over. The Mod Podge was completely dried by the time I got to this piece so I went with foiling and it worked pretty good. Trimmed the piece to a narrow strip then mounted on plaid pp layer. The frame is copy paper cut, scored & folded then glued on. Sentiments are Silhouette cut in white, top layer of Sending is heat set black embossing powder and strip has pink sponging to tone down the white.
The frame was fun to make, it is only 1/8″ thick so should still fit in an envelope and mail with just one stamp with an extra one ounce stamp. Now I wish I had colored the inside edges of the frame, maybe not black but the blue or purple would have added depth. Oh well, maybe next time. Here is where I found the score board frame tutorial. The dimensions for scoring I used are 3/8″ and 1/8″ with two cut 3″ and two cut 4″ in length.

Me too. The other frame I made has the backing built in and you slide the card in but this one is just the sides you piece together and can add to the front or adhere the piece to the back. As long as it is bigger than the frame.

OMG…love the soft plaid background and then those mitered corners on your frame….well isn’t that just the coolest. Thanks for the link. Gorgeous card, Bonnie.

I had no idea foiling would work with Mod Podge. Never perfect but I guess if I want perfect foiling I can purchase the card.

A purchased one would not be one made with love and thought, so definitely not worth it. Glad it worked for you with the mod podge.
