I usually use a black for silhouette but this one became something a little different. I had used this public domain digi of the cowboys in printed form often but this challenge prompted me to try using my Silhouette machine to outline and create a stencil of the image. With my new stencil placed on Text Vellum I sponged the inks in purple, orange and yellow. Trimmed then mounted on Silhouette cut fancy edge mat layer in white cs that is mounted on Kraft cs then white cs base. I leave any sentiment off because hubby uses these for his trail buddies for all kinds of reasons. The Kraft on the fancy cut edge gives the feel of a rope lariat.
Tip: My new found favorite stencil cutting material is a single layer of laminate pouches in the 5 mil type (separate the raw pouches without laminating). Silhouette cut quite easily and the finished stencil is sturdy enough. It allows sponging and texture pastes then cleans up without tearing. Maybe a little flimsy but it cuts much easier than 4-7 mil mylar, which also seem to crack and tear after use.
Challenges I am sharing this with
Fab ‘n’ Funky: Kraft not much there but it really works with these more pastel colors
Crafty Catz: ATG + Die cut stencil was cut

Very cool. It reminds me of the song Ghost Riders in the Sky. The edge does look like a lariat.

Thanks so much Judy, Terry uses these all the time so was fun to find a slightly different way to create with the image.

Thanks, it went fast once I got the stencil cut. That took 2 days. My brain has a hard time with reverse.

I love this card and the great silhouette design. Do we have permission to use your jpeg of it? I would love to try and see if I could print it somehow onto a background. I don’t have the ability to make a stencil of it though. There are a few cowboys around that this might appeal to in a card.

He used them all the time. Men don’t seem to care if the image doesn’t change.
