When I was searching for a certain color of embossing powder last year the only way I found some was in a combo pack of three colors. Here I used the two shades of purple that came in the pack. Stamped the images a few times, heat set the lighter color. Stamped more images and heat set the darker purple. Sponged purple ink in centers of flowers and green ink in leaves. Sprayed the purple ink left on the glass mat with water and mopped up with small sheet of white Text Vellum that became the sentiment tag. Placed a piece of painters tape over images and sponged a light blue from an ink pad. Mounted both pieces on copy paper with edges colored with purple marker. Then layered everything on white cs base. After it was all done I decided to add the stamped and heat embossed bee in silver tinsel.
Challenge I am sharing this with

Thanks Lisa K. This kind of bg is not one I do often or feel very good at. You are so good to tell my how much you like it.

I just love the purples and green combination you used here, and that subtle background is perfect behind your flowers and leaves. Love your sentiment panel as well.

I was not going to do a bg on the flowers but they looked like they were lost just floating. So glad you like my solution.

Bonnie, thank you for entering this beautiful card into our challenge I especially like the background it just makes it all come together. The flowers and that sentiment piece are perfect too. I see a lot of vellum for sentiments, but the splatter of color on it is a perfect touch!!! Please join us again next month for our March challenge. Would love to see what you create!!!

Thanks so much Elena, the vellum is actually called Text Vellum and it is more like a thin water color paper. You know I will be checking in for March.

Beautiful work Bonnie! I love how the vellum softens the background, but the blue makes it part of it, as well. Great job.

The vellum is a separate piece, actually the trimmings of the bg.

Sorry, didn’t say that right. The vellum on top of the background is what I meant. I like vellum over bright, or busy backgrounds, as you can still see them through it, but it softens it a bit.

Beautiful card ! Love your purple combo embossing for these lovely flowers. Gorgeous smooshing background too for the sentiment. Didn’t know we could do that on Vellum, I have to give it a try ! Thanks so much for sharing and for playing along at the Rainbow Card Challenge.

It is NOT regular vellum, it is TEXT vellum. More like copy paper but in watercolor properties’.

Bonnie, it’s beautiful! The darker elements really compliment the soft colors. Thanks for joining us at TRCC and I hope we see you again soon!
