Silver Celestial

For the challenge at CAS Mix Up they are asking for heat embossing with a stencil. I used this celestial stencil and clear gel medium in matte. While still wet I removed stencil and sprinkled silver tinsel embossing powder then heat set. What a show, as the gel dried the powder did a happy dance to this shiny vision. I used blue fun foam to both pop the piece up and add a thin boarder. Once mounted on white cs base I realized the silver was lost. So in a moment of nothing to lose, I sprinkled color burst right on top of the piece, spritzed with water and let it run. How the base stayed pristine and only the center really ran is truly a blessing.

  1. Looking at it, I thought you would have painted the blue on to get it in just the right spot. So amazing that that’s just where it went. This is a beautiful card. Popping it up with the colored foam gives it a beautiful dimension and frame. Great work!

  2. Your silver embossed image looks amazing, and I love the blue in the center. You are so brave; I don’t think I could have taken the chance with the color burst once all the stenciling was done, but it came out great!!

    1. You are too kind. I had nothing to lose. It was a washout without doing something, Too bad I didn’t make that call before all was attached. All is well that ends well.
