New Black Paper

A few stamp buddies and I were discussing, via email thread, about the cost and limited supply of good black cs. It got me thinking – What if I use black modeling paste on white paper? Well this is what happened. The paper is white Text Vellum in a light weight and I smeared the thin layer of the black paste on with the edge of an old credit card. Once dry I heat embossed the image in silver then used white gel pen to fill in the berries. The leaves and bow had to be filled in with white colored pencil then used water brush in ink smeared on glass mat to color. Die cut and mounted on white cs base. Funny that I got the silver shine to show in the photo but the colors not so much. The bow is quite red and the leaves are green.

    1. You are so great, I thought it was kind of thick for gesso. I will update this post. Get the modeling paste in black. It is fun to put through a stencil because gesso is too thin.
