Alcohol ink with re-inkers

The kind of re-inkers I have are called highbred so when I added blending solution to them on my glass mat and then smooching glossy photo paper (wet with blending solution) I got this result. I used three shades of blue, a couple drops of each color, and it was interesting how the colors separated some of the blues to purple. The snowflake is silhouette cut and added to trimmed bg piece. Then mounted this on small, 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 cs base. I had enough ink to create two pieces of photo paper then mopped up with Text Vellum paper. I created this array of note cards for a gift packet.

Tip: When checking the internet for ideas to make my own alcohol ink I found a recipe for making blending solution. It said to mix 4 oz of 91% alcohol with 3-4 drops glycerin. Worked great. I also found, at least with my re-inkers, it was best to put the ink directly on the glass mat then spray the blending solution. When I tried making my own ink by placing the drops in a bottle and adding the alcohol the solution was not very saturated and ran a lot. Plus I would need to create bottles of this stuff each time I wanted a color. This way I just grab the re-inker, blending solution and I am good to play. I did spray the surface of the dry creations with my shimmer spray. It did not add much shimmer but did lock the ink on the photo paper.
