I had won a gift certificate from Funkie Junkie so went on a shopping spree. Got somethings that are quite predictable but something very new to me. Anyone that follows my blog knows I have a very passionate love affair with stencils. The vine on the left in black glitter paste is my latest acquired stencil. I put this on pp then added a well used snowflake die. I had cut the snowflake out of layering weight cs twice on the Silhouette and glued the two together, they were then used to emboss the flap of my Christmas envelopes. Then stamped sentiment in black ink and heat set with clear embossing powder. All is mounted on small white cs base.
What is new is the mat I used to help keep the stencil in place. It is called Make Art Stay-tion. Tag line says: all-in-one magnetic surface for stenciling, aligning, embossing & creating. Holly cow does this thing make stenciling easier. The magnetics are so strong they hold both the paper and the stencil in place. Not something I would have thought I needed but now would not be without it.
Tip: Get a small v-shaped spatula, then keep the media on the top third of the tool. Use more of a lifting type scrap motion with your wrist. When I used a knife shaped spatula and more of a push and smear I got tons of bleed. But who is to say that my new mat has more to do with the much improved results accomplished on this one?

Love the card, Bonnie. Thanks for info on your new “find”; I’ll have to check it out. The black paste on your vine stencil with the plaid background is gorgeous.

Congratulations on your new tool! It’s always wonderful when the new stuff is as good as, if not better than, advertised. Your card is lovely.
