Most people I know don’t like to make this kind of card but I find comfort in creating while thinking about what the person that has passed meant to me. The bg is some white tissue paper that I smooched in purple and blue activated color burst. Once dry I glued it to layering weight paper with white glue. Once that was dry I brushed on clear gesso. This allows me to add more mixed media and not disturb the tissue paper. Stamped the leaf pattern with versa mark and heat set platinum embossing powder. Added the sentiment strip in the same embossing powder on plum colored cs. Used water color and fine paint brush to fill in the leaves. Layered on gray cs then small white cs base. Added controlled splatter with white gel pen and black ink on fine paint brush.
Challenges I am sharing this with
This is absolutely gorgeous. Love the card design and find the blues and purples with the platinum embossing to be so comforting – PERFECT for a sympathy card.

The background is lovely and the platinum embossing is beautiful on top of it. I like your philosophy about creating sympathy cards. I will remember that the next time I need one.
