When I very first started using mixed media, it was suggested to me to always make three of what ever I was working on. It has served me well. Some of the creations get saved for latter and some go in new directions from my original concept. This one is the latter. Once I had added cranberry ink to glass mat and brayer it on a em the first squish was the dark gray cs. Then I used copy paper which is the base here and the last was layering weight cs, used prior. With the challenge to frame something in mind, I trimmed down the gray and mounted on the same ef image copy paper. Added the tag with stamped sentiment and snowflake flourish. Snowflake and mat layer of sentiment have glitter embossing powder. All is mounted on white cs base.

Beautiful texture. The pink and black is so pretty, and it’s cool how the embossed area loosely extends beyond the black and becomes white.

I agree with Lisa that the parts of the present ribbon that were left white on your frame are so eye catching. Mixed media is definitely an art for you, Bonnie.

They stayed white because that is what happens wthen white paper is embossed and the ink is only on the surface.

I agree with Lisa and Gayle, I can’t think of anything more to add. Another amazing card from the queen of mixed media.

Bonnie, this is quite lovely. I like that you had “extras” to use elsewhere, too. That’s a good one to remember.

Certainly is fun to have leftover pieces to create something new and in a different direction. Love your color choices and the background result is beautiful. Thanks so much for playing along with this weeks sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps!
