Let’s Squash It

What could be more fun than a new challenge site, than a new challenge site dedicated to embossing folders. EF are such un-sung heroes and it is about time someone decided to use them often.

This project actually started out to make a daisy chain stencil but when you cut 9×12 and tell the machine it is 8 1/2×11 somethings get cut off. So when this 4 mil stencil was to tiny to try to use and I had broken out a brand new cutting mat that was supper sticky I thought to try something new. I used my tape runner over the bits left on the cutting mat and then placed layering weight cs to pick them up. Placed the reverse mylar back down and attached purple tape to make a hinge. Lightly sprayed black cs with water and sent the new ef through the machine. Worked pretty good but I wanted the metal look, so I added a blob of silver acrylic paint directly on the black embossed cs and spread it thin with the edge of an old credit card. Trimmed the bg piece down, added black splatter and black ink along the edges and mounted on white cs base. The greenery is Silhouette cut and the silver tag was a birthday gift from a stamp buddy. Sentiment was stamped in black on white copy paper and attached to back of tag.

  1. You are correct about those embossing folders. I have them too but normally forget to use them. Enjoy your new challenge site. Love that metallic background you created.

  2. Great background. I made mini file folders to store my embossing folders and I still don’t always remember to use them. I will check out that challenge.
