On the Beach

Make My Monday: On the Beach

Sweet Stampin: Paper Piecing

Double Trouble: Something not a image of a phone but the word is in the quote.

Allsorts: Going Round in Circles

This is a combination of using scrapes and wanting to try a new technique. The previous card left me with the shimmer blue in the center of white cs. That made my sea, now for the sand. I took white modeling paste and tinted it with Kraft reinker. This thick paste I dabbed the scratchier side of a kitchen sponge and then dabbed that on the lower half of the cs. Used a die cut for the flip flops, which I placed back down. I only wanted the hint of the foot prints in the sand. I then cut the die again in black and paper pieced the thongs. Added the sentiment and sun printed on tissue paper that was glued on. The line between the quote and author is stamped in black ink. Piece was mat layered on navy cs for just the upper corner and all was added to white cs base. I did add a few white dots in gel pen for sea foam, pupil of eyes and to tone down the black thongs.

  1. Perfect! Love those flipflops in the sand and just a perfect sentiment too. We had the grandkids at the beach this past Thursday. I got walloped by more waves then I can remember. My husband then reminded me that I’m too “old” to be playing with the kids…..seriously….good thing he was driving! Seriously another beautiful card, Bonnie.

  2. Bonnie, this is a fantastic card! I love that your mat is only for the top left edge and those flip flops are a wonderful touch. Great work on this. That textured sand is wonderful.
