The Paper Players: Color

Krafty Chicks: Stamp Act

Simon Says: Midsummer Summer Blues

This project is a CASE of the designer Yana Smakula. I saw her design on Simon Says blog and loved the bold colors and her happy colors. I choice the navy bg but went with the colors for The Paper Players challenge. I started with stamping the large stamp in black ink on Paper Vellum, coloring the bg first with copic. The flowers are combination of copic and ink pad smeared on glass mat and sprayed with water then dry brushed. Added stems back in with white acrylic paint in a fineline bottle. Only problem was the blue bled through. Oh well, one of the challenge colors is Pool Party, which looks pretty close to the color of my stems. Once all the colors dried I sprayed the whole thing with shimmer spray then attached to 5×7 white cs base. Sentiment is cut on the Silhouette in white cs then attached.

Tip: To get my warped project to lay flat I first sent it through the Cricket which helped. Then I put it through the Xyron and used a credit card to adhere the adhesive to the back. This got attached to thin copy paper such that I could then trim to size and know it was not wonky.

    1. You are too funny. I am sure on the internet it looks black. The shimmer spray really tied everything together but it did take the bg down a shade or two.
