Simon Says Monday: Early Birds

Sweet Stampin: Clean & Simple

Just Add Ink: Color

When it is triple digit heat I find the air condition craft room my happy place. The canvas bird came to me pre-stamped as a gift. I used re-inkers in two shades of turquoise to water color it. Added the yellow with water color and the gray on the canvas is copic. The card base was created by placing the bird down and tracing with a pencil the outline. I then used gray re-inker on glass mat and water color brush to brush on bg. Added the splatter with the ink and the brush. Sentiment strip is heat embossed in white on cs then adhered. Not sure what made me fussy cut the bottom of the strip but I do like the look.

  1. The coloring on the bird is beautiful. It has so much texture. It reminds me of some stickers Gina gave as an incentive many moons ago – they were fun to color. The sentiment strip turned out great.

  2. OMGoodness I can’t imagine the warmth you’re feeling, smack in the middle of winter here in Australia brrrrr. I love the way you’ve coloured your bird, & the added shadow is perfect. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink this week. x
