Allsorts: Lots of Yellow

This started as a white piece of Text Vellum that I used a numbers embossing folder to stamp the numbers on. To do this I rub the dark blue stamp pad on the mountain side of the folder close it and press such that the ink transfer to the valley side. Open the folder then place valley side of folder on paper and press the entire surface to stamp image. Swiped a dark yellow stamp pad across center to create color block and sponged light blue around outer edges. Added white acrylic paint through shell stencil then smeared white gesso over entire surface to tone everything down. Stamped sentiment in dark blue then attached Silhouette cut flower that were colored with copics. The white and black splatter dots are glossy accents enamel place one at a time to control size and placement. Mounted on a white mat copy paper layer that has its edges colored yellow with copic that is all mounted on white cs base.

I don’t know how you do it, but you sure come up with some interesting designs using so many different techniques to get what you want. This is a stunning card in everyway!

I love these colors and it was for a new to me challenge but I was a day late getting it finished. Oh well so glad you like it and got a new idea!

I always enjoy a cleave fun technique so using the embossing folder for the background is def fun and easy to do! Thank you for playing with us at MMM

Thanks so much Pamela, it was quite by accident one time that I discovered this. I was mostly wanting to make sure my embossing folder was clean after using paint and the leftover paint that created a kind of outline was very fun.

This is a very pretty card. I’m trying very hard to like gardening at the moment. I’m not the most natural at it but I’ve decided to do something with it seeing as it’s where I’m spending a lot of time lately. Thanks for joining us at Make My Monday. Love Dawn x

Thanks for the comment on my card. As gardening goes, realizing it is not a overnight thing and how much patience it has taught me are my takeaways. Keep a journal of what works and what does not. Find a friend in your area that is very good at what you want to be good at.
