Beach Kraft

Challenge
Double Trouble: Brown Bag It
Crafting Happiness: Anything goes

The gals over at Double Trouble had me getting out my Kraft cs. I dry embossed it and then created the beach scene on white Text Vellum with my new Soft Pastels. I had ordered them months ago and they were on the slow boat from China, literally. Once I had created the sky, ocean and beach, I smeared the top with clear gesso to seal in the pastels. When that was dry I stamped the grass and birds and sponged in the navy ink along the top. Added white highlights with gel pen then cut to size and adhered to Kraft cs. Stamped sentiment in black ink and added round raised dots. Mounted all on white cs base.

Oh, and for the twisted sister and optional twist, the kids playing with a red wagon are just out of the scene on the beach.

Under $15 but should provide tons of fun.

  3. Gorgeous scene, Bonnie. Your kraft embossed panel and the window for your ocean/beach scene makes me wish I was there. Enjoy your pastels and had to laugh about your red wagon story,

  7. Such a serene scene, Bonnie! I lived most of my life at the seashore and miss it every day. (I now live in Arizona.) So creative to see what you did with the embossing – very clever! We’re so glad you played along with us at Double Trouble #57.

  8. I absolutely love how the twist is just out of scene! This is a wonderful card and I love that the slow boat finally arrived for you. My MIL ordered a puzzle and figures it’s being swum over from China one piece at a time. Your card is beautiful. I love the embossing you used on the kraft to extend your beach.
