CAS Spring

Challenges
The Paper Players: CAS Spring Flowers
Double Trouble: Die or Punch
Double D: Welcome Spring

On my way to water coloring the poppies I made this bg and did not like it with the bold red water color so used another die cut of these poppies and chalk for blush of color. Leafy frame is Silhouette cut in white cs and layered on bg that is water colored on white cs base. Sentiment was Silhouette cut for mat then stamped and heat set in black.

Tip: I have found that if I stamp my stamp sets in black and scan the images, I can outline then offset to get mat layers with my Silhouette. For this set I created one that is barley larger .002 (used here) then one that is .03 offset and the largest one is .08 offset (used for sentiment here). I cut the mat layers out first and then stamp them using Misti. Email me if you want a copy of the SVG for this set.

Another tip: Got the idea of using the colors of the design for the bg wash while watching a designer on Create and Craft on the TV and then seeing my colors on the glass mat where I was clearing out my brush. It is done with light water wash over area then drop in colors from the design and let them bleed out. Red that turned pink with the wash where the poppies would end up and green where the buds would be.

  3. Oh my, this is beautiful…love the frame cut and the sponged background and your chaulked floral is so pretty against the background. Thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble; but don’t forget to share with our partner at Bitten By The Bug … In fact, they had cut us a Die’al and you can use other machines and punches for our cuts and as long as it’s not a fussy-cut and has a “Spring” theme, you can link up with at: https://heather-bittenbythebug2.blogspot.com/2020/03/spring-equinox-and-double-trouble.html
