Easel Thank You

With my latest kick of using recycled tissue paper, I wanted to try stamping and water coloring on it. First I stamped with black ink on one side. Used many stamps and objects. The thin straight lines are my eraser shield with the edge dipped in the ink pad and then touched on the tissue paper. From the back side I smeared a thick coat of clear gesso. Once dry I water colored on top of the gesso. This piece was then glued on the Silhouette cut top butterfly in white layering weight cs, allowed to dry then trimmed with scissors very close. This is when I heat embossed vintage black and gold. The gold is versa mark through a stencil and the black is sprinkled on top, randomly and sparingly, then heat set from the back. Base of the butterfly has pp with kraft ink sponged through a stencil and then added rhinestones for stops. Lastly adhered sentiment.

This design is from the Silhouette Store and the cut out sentiment is my own design. The layers of the butterfly are intended to line up but I left them off set for a mat and layer effect. That way I used the contrast of the colors in the layers to my advantage and did not try to color any edges.

  1. What a great idea for recycling tissue paper and I love the addition of the smattered embossing – which gives this card a lovely rich vintage feel. Lovely swirly sentiment. Chantell Just Add Ink
