Simon Says Monday: Rust
For my Simon Say Wednesday I made a heart shaped paper stencil and was working on that card when I realized I had another idea pulling me away. Here is the result of the paper stencil with the embossing paste dried, edges torn, sponged kraft and turquoise ink added in areas then heat set silver embossing powder in others. The rust is cinnamon that was added by dabbing piece in glue on block then dumping on the spice and shaking off excess. I did cover the whole area with clear spray before mounting on a layer of kraft cs that was dry embossed and edges aged with brown ink pad. The turquoise leaf and sentiment are Silhouette cut and glued on. The white sentiment was toned down a bit with a cotton ball in some colored chalk in a sepia shade. Added in a few dots of white and black gel pens to join elements.
With the cinnamon out on the counter, now my husband is adding it to our morning coffee. YUM.
Another absolute beauty here and you are enormously clever at how you achieve your designs.

Fabulous card. I love how you’re creating rust out of cinnamon.
