Simon Says Monday: Rust it Up
The folks over at Simon Says wanted us to create rust on our project. I started with the wonderful die cut that was sent to me from a dear friend (thanks Diana) in white cs. First I sponged turquoise ink very randomly. Then pressed areas into the versa mark and heat set silver tinsel. Where it was still white I pressed into versa mark again but this time added cinnamon and heat set that. Where the cinnamon did not stick I used liquid glue and sprinkled again with the spice. Ran the piece through the Xyron and attached to a bg of turquoise cs I had dry embossed with my homemade linen folder and swiped with the same color of ink pad to create texture. Tag is added with kraft layer and the same turquoise cs that has stamped sentiment in black. All is mounted on white cs base.
Tip: Keep an extra, well marked, versa mark ink pad for grunge work. It will get messy, in this case loose cinnamon, but it won’t hurt messy projects. This way you will have a clean pad for those times you really do want only white embossing powder.

OMG you did it again. Only you would come up with something like this and no one else would think to use the actual spice. You could start your own YouTube channel with the tips you give and the stuff you use. WOW is all I can say.

What a fun card! I love that you used cinnamon for the “rust”. I’m surprised it didn’t burn, but I bet it adds a wonderful scent to your card to add to the fun of it.
It’s wonderful that you try new things and share what you do.
