New Digi and new technique

Challenges
CAS Mix Up: Partial Die Cutting
Sweet Stampin: New Stash
Sunday Stampers: Stay Neutral

One of my stamping buddies just got the gig to design for Garciellie Design and so once I check out the site I had to get some digi’s: designs, sentiments and pp. These flowers were uploaded to the Silhouette where I told it to partially cut them out, just the front flower, and then print the flowers and boarders on copy paper. The die cut flower with its separate center were pressed into the versa mark and then added aged black embossing powder to the flower and the center has my new silver tinsel embossing powder then both got heat set. Used Collage Medium to attach them to the top of the image. Trimmed the image close to the boarder and attached to layering weight cs. The sentiment was stamped on tissue paper in black then got adhesive attached through the Xyron. Trimmed it real close and removed the backing so it could be layered on top of the other elements. The whole thing was then attached to the white cs base.

I know I could have just stamped the sentiment to the front, but I also know the line where the copy paper starts would not have stamped very well. That is why I wanted to try the idea of stamping on the tissue paper, it is all but clear and made the sentiment solid without creating a tag or obvious outline. Getting the backing off the tissue paper and then making sure the words are straight once laid down is not for the faint of heart (aka: it was hard to do).

  1. So pretty and I am amazed you used tissue paper. Definitely not for the faint of heart and not sure I would have had the patience. Love how you did your flowers.

  3. Your aged black heat-embossed flower looks so shiny and gorgeous, Bonnie! Making a sticker is a great idea for the smooth sentiment. Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

  4. What a fun technique — I love your bold and subtles flowers overlaying each other. And the sentiment on tissue paper is a great idea! Thanks for joining Sunday Stamps this week.
