Simon Says Wednesday: Something New

My husband got me a spending spree at Simon Says Stamps just before the holidays and a few of the items I got were Texture Paste that crackles and a 1/2″ circle punch (funny how much fun I can find for under $50) For this project I used the paste through a brick stencil on layering weight white cs. Once dry I sponged on dark red and dark brown over just the bricks. Then sprinkled some color burst in black. Used a fan brush to be sure to get the powder all over the piece then sprayed with water. This gave the mortar a dark look and left the bg multi colored. I used the fan brush in gold mica powder that was sprayed with water to color the sky golden. My handy dandy punch was use to create the inverted rounded corners. Layered on some burlap ribbon (this is so old I don’t even know where I got it but the cellophane wrapping was still on it). Sentiment were cut on the Silhouette as were the foliage pieces. All is mounted on linen look white cs and a white cs base.

  1. Gotta love a spending spree! You did great with that punch, as I have a punch specifically for that inverted corner. It never occurred to me to use one of my circle punches. Super fun that you found four challenges for that card to fit.
