Accidents Happen

Challenges
Double Trouble: “SomeThing, AnyThing, EveryThing”
Crafting Happiness: Ribbon
Sunday Stampers: Neutrals

I had a plan, I worked my plan and then an accident happened and changed my plan. This was to be a soft yellow with white, whole bg piece. I put the clear gesso on the glass mat, colored it with yellow re-inker and used a brayer to get the white layering cs to just the perfect color and texture. When I applied my white embossing paste through the stencil on the light yellow bg the dirty stencil self cleaned and left a blackish outline on the white paste. I guess when I used it last month I did not get the black glitter paste off the stencil Oh well, I kind of like it. So now it is for the Double Trouble Challenge. The stuff from my stash is the hand cut rolled roses, the new is the gray with white stitching lines ribbon and the Crafting Happiness Challenge is to use ribbon (does it count to kill two birds with one stone?). The doily is Silhouette cut as is the foliage that got colored with copics. BG script is stamped in medium gray and the sentiment is stamped in black.

Tip: To make these rolled roses, cut layering white cs into 1 1/2″ square. Use a paper edgers scissors to make this piece round. Then using the same scissors cut a cone shape from outer to inner. I find it easier to get the rolling and shaping right if I cut the inner scallops off. Now color the paper with sponging and medium of your liking then roll with needle nosed pliers from outer to inner. Apply white clue down the center and smash slightly. Hold till the glue starts to set. Spritz with water and shape the outer petals.

  1. It’s always nice when the accident makes you happy. This is a beautiful card and I really like the look you got with your “dirty” stencil. The flowers are lovely. Thanks for the “how to” for them.
