Sunday Stampers: Keep it Open
Sunday Stampers Challenge has a sketch with open on the sides. I flipped the sketch but keep it open. Focal image was an experiment with color burst and alcohol. It basically does NOT work. It takes water to activate the colors. What the alcohol did do was drift the color solids over the cs such that when I did spray water the burst was an all over effect and not concentrated in a small area. The black is a stencil with homemade paste colored black with acrylic paint. Layered this strip on white cs base then added hot pink strips of cs and sentiment label and bird. The added pieces were stamped in black on cs, colored with copics and fussy cut. Centers are popped up with thick glue.
Lovely take on the sketch! Glad you experimented with the Color Bursts and shared what happened.

Pink and black is a pretty combination. I haven’t used color bursts yet, but will tuck that info into my head when I get around to trying them!

Well however it worked or didn’t in your mind, the overall effect is lovely. I like the pink and black and think your bird is delightful.

So no mixing alcohol with color burst; however, you still ended up with an amazing amount of very striking color. The pink and black are always a great combination. Great take on the sketch and sharing the results on your experiment.

I’ll join in the praise for trying something new, then letting us know what happened. I, too, like the effect you got. Your paste is pretty amazing, as well. I like that it looks a matte, while the bird is shiny.
