Playing with Vellum

Challenge
CAS Mix It Up: Metal

Had these old sheets of dry embossed vellum from years ago. Now that i found a way to attach vellum without adhesive showing ( xyron will adhere vellum to cs) I decided to play with them. This one has color burst smacked on the back and gold enamel pen swiped on top. Bottom tag is vellum with gold heat embossed sentiment. Pieces had adhesive placed on back and then they were place on prickly pear cs that was adhered to white cs base. This is a small card: 3 1/2×4

Tip: The pieces of vellum were quite brittle and curled after the liquid dried, so I heated the laminator and sent them through sandwiched in a piece of copy paper. They were flat and very easy to cut to size but clearly still had enough relief to catch the gold pen.

  1. This is very pretty. Love the gold on the vellum. Great tip on flattening the panel with the laminator.

When you say you used xyron to adhere the vellum, do you mean you ran the panel through the machine with two-sided adhesive to make it into a sticker? And was this after you flattened it in the laminator? I rarely use vellum because I have trouble adhering it without seeing the adhesive.

  2. This has such texture and I love the gold swirling through it. Don’t use vellum that much – must use it more if I can get results like this.
