The Paper Players: Color
Sweet Stampin: Make Your BG
Just could not get this photo right. I could either get the shine and my colors were wrong or the colors were spot on and the shine was flat. I went with the shine, the blue is actually quite turquoise IRL. Started with white layering weight cs and stenciled the leaves and berries with clear gesso colored with reinker in the green. The mix was thin so I experimented and added arrowroot. Worked perfectly, just right thickness and dried smoother yet subtle. I painted the berries with gold water color and trimmed down to size. The bird in purple is pp that was a 12×12 sheet but I added some of the gold highlights in water color. Heat embossed sentiment in gold and added matching green dots. Sponged flap of envelope with stencil in the green ink.
Love your stenciled background and the amazing shine! I hate when the camera sees colors (especially blues and greens) so differently than they appear in real life. You waste a ton of time trying to get the photo right, but never really do. Sigh… Your card looks great as pictured!

I think the photo is fine although I know exactly what you mean about colour and shine. It is quite difficult to get right. I like the design and the colours you used. Love the subtlety of the gold highlights.

Lovely card. I can never get good pictures when I’m dealing with metallics (or any other time actually).

This is great. I’m glad you went with the shine and explained the colors, as there’s lots of shine to see. Great job on this.
