Let’s try again

Challenge I am entering:
CAS Watercolor: Complimentary Colors

I had so wanted to participate in the CAS Watercolor challenge but I had used pp where it should have been more open space. So this go around I colored the frame with watercolors in purple and added the same shade to the butterfly. Then added gold watercolor to the rest of the butterfly. Cut out the white behind the frame and stamped sentiment in black. Mounted all on the plain goldenrod color cs and that is mounted on white cs base.

It is really funny because when I first starting posting my creations I kind of took offence when so many of you left comments telling me you liked my CAS style. I thought I had gotten tons of layers and embellishments and did not want to be known as CAS. Now, when I am embracing the idea, I am getting too much clutter. I still love the challenges for keeping the creative juices flowing and actually like both versions of this card.

  1. The CAS version is just as beautiful and regal as the first one. All your cards are amazing, whether you “clutter” it up or make it CAS…..and everything in between.

  2. I am in agreement with Gerry – your style is great whether it’s totally CAS or with layers. You have a good eye for design and colour and I like all you make although some better than others. It is such a subjective thing viewing art of any kind. I don’t think I have a style of my own. I just like trying different things I’ve seen and seeing what happens.

  3. Both versions are lovely, Bonnie, but the first is definitely more CAS in style! Love how you’ve used your complementary colors! That butterfly is gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at CAS Watercolour!

  4. Both cards are beautiful Bonnie! I love the newer version as it does fit the CAS rules of our challenge. The golden rod is lots of open space on your design. Gorgeous butterfly and pretty frame for your sentiment. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!
