Stamped the flowers and leaves with Whisper Amalgam Ink then water colored on plain old copy paper (too cheap to get water color paper). Once dry re-stamped free hand with black ink. Ironed flat and mounted on pp that is mounted on white cs base. Sentiment was cut on Silhouette in white layering weight then heat set in gold twice. Tag is a die and sentiment was stamped in black and then popped up.

Tip: Once you find something that works don’t mess with it. I have used Neenah 110 lb. Smooth paper in my Silhouette for years and it cuts like a dream. I mean look how fine that Celebrate cut above. Then I got to thinking it was a little too gray for my base weight cs and copy paper so I got in a ream of something else. It matched perfectly but my Silhouette hates it. Makes a mess even with super easy cuts. So now we have tons of layering weight not for the Silhouette. Live and learn.

  1. This is so gorgeous my friend. I love everything about it. Know what you mean about changing supplies and then it not working out. These days I stick to what I know is okay for my BigShot as occasionally I can’t cut an intricate die.

  7. I love everything about this! Great idea to re-stamp your images after you water colored them; they really pop. Love that gold greeting and how you embossed it twice to give it great dimension. And using plain paper for water coloring and then ironing it flat is brilliant! Thanks for the tip on the neenah card stock in the silhouette; there is nothing worse than waiting all that time for your image to cut and then seeing it didn’t cut well. (OK, maybe there are worse things, but that is up there – lol!)

  9. This is a stunning card. Your choice of colours is amazing. I love the arty look of the watercolouring and I haven’t tried heat embossing a sentiment like this but it really works well with your colours. Thank you for joining Ink
